Cajón

Not traditional but common in fusion projects. The cajón can voice dum and tak convincingly and travels well.

  2. 2Lean slightly forward from the hips.
  3. 3Hands hang naturally over the front face.

Bass and slap
Mapping cajón sounds onto Arabic dum/tak vocabulary.

  1. 1Bass (dum): strike the center with a flat hand.
  2. 2Slap (tak): fingers snap the top corner.
  3. 3Add ghost taps between hits for texture.
